Description

UPMC Corporate is hiring a Manager, Internal Marketing Communications to join our team!  This position will be located at the US Steel Tower and will have the flexibility to have a hybrid work schedule.  The position will strategize, develop, and implement communication projects to educate and inform UPMC internal audiences.   As well as completing direct communication strategies for audiences in assigned area.

Responsibilities:

  • Role will encompass the creation, publication, and governance of shared internal content. 
  • Oversight of daily news strategy and production. 
  • Develop content and copy across all channels related to UPMC strategic and operational priorities, community benefits, special projects, and other initiatives as assigned. 
  • Design and implement an omnichannel strategy within Internal Communications. 
  • Partner with PR colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and publish content across Internal Communication channels and ensures content is designed to meet the needs and expectations of each audience and is delivered in the appropriate channels at the right time. Content development may include short and long-form publication articles, social posts, direct email, digital message boards, blog posts, web pages, video/digital messages.  
  • Create and manage, a global Internal Communications editorial calendar for shared content that is built with input from colleagues across Internal Communications. 
  • Lead content discussions in planning meetings to identify, create, and manage shared content. 
  • Establish content and story submission workflow, management, and distribution process. 
  • Produce compelling messaging that aligns with brand standards while clearly conveying the strategic objectives. 
  • Write, proofread, and edit copy at various stages of the writing process while ensuring editorial standards are met.  
  • Ensure consistency of key messages and brand standards across all content and channels. 
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications through digital analytics, surveys, and other key performance indicators.  
  • Serve as a communications counselor (consultant) to internal UPMC clients.
  • Monitor project budgets; handle approvals and other client relations and take responsibility for accuracy and effectiveness of information communicated.
  • Edit and/or write copy appropriate for the audience and the channel publications, letters, advertisements, audio/visual presentations, speeches and other communication programs.
  • Independently advise internal clients.
  • Manage the research, writing, design and production of any materials.
  • Implement communication plans for programs by managing multi-faceted projects.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments.
  • Develop methods to evaluate communications projects based on effectiveness and cost/benefits, and document the results.
  • Develop and implement targeted communication strategies to support the organization's enterprise-wide objectives.
  • Prepare strategies to achieve communication goals.
  • Adhere to all department processes as established for editing content, submitting to publications, supporting intranet governance, and other processes as outlined by department leadership.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, health sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in communications or related field required.
  • Project Management experience required.
  • Experience providing clients with strategic marketing counsel required.
  • Professional communication experiences a plus.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, hospital or health care industry is preferred.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills required.
