COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

If you are not yet vaccinated, we urge you to get a vaccine now. You can schedule your COVID-19 vaccination through UPMC or visit a non-UPMC provider or UPMC Urgent Care location.

Proof of vaccination is not required upon hire; however, employees will be responsible for ensuring post-hire compliance by getting vaccinated or requesting a medical or religious exemption.

LPN – Med/Surg 3200

Description

Are you interested in working at Magnet-designated UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital? Only 7% of hospitals nationwide have achieved Magnet designation - and we’re one of them! For more than a century, UPMC Magee has been caring for women through all stages of their lives, and we are looking for the next talented employee to join our team.

3200 is a 24-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit that cares for a wide variety of medical and post-op patients to include short-stay patients.  Although we are a women’s hospital, we care for both women and men in a compassionate, supportive, high-tech environment, utilizing protocols to enable both patient and staff safety.  Our post-op patients may be recovering from orthopedic, vascular, urological, gynecological, or bariatric surgeries. Due to the wide variety of services we offer and the medical conditions we see, 3200 is a great fit for graduate nurses and nurses seeking to build broad knowledge and/or gain new experience.

An LPN shall follow the written, established policies and procedures of UPMC, UPMC LPN Practice Guidelines and the State Practice Act. Acts within the LPN Practice guidelines (except IVs) and within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.

An LPN shall communicate with a licensed professional nurse and the patients’ health care team members to seek guidance when:

  • The patients care needs exceed the licensed practical nursing scope of practice.
  • The patients care needs surpass the LPN’s knowledge, skill, or ability.
  • The patient’s condition deteriorates or there is a significant change in condition, the patient is not responding to therapy, the patient becomes unstable, or the patient needs immediate assistance.
