UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

Purpose:
All student workers from a formal annual program, working in a clinical patient care environment with the Dental Department.

This position will be domiciled at Children's Hospital main campus in Lawrenceville but will require occasional travel to Children's Hospital in Hampton.



Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work with pediatric patient and families
  • Perform routine clinical tasks under the guidance of Dentist and/or  Clinical Coordinator.
  • Greet and room patients – help maintain patient flow
  • Interact with other employees and provide assistance for routine task
  • Give an receive accurate and complete information to parents and doctors while displaying professionalism
  • Assist in the clinical setting including proper room set up, chairside assisting and clean up in accordance with hospital standards
  • Assist in patient education, completion of forms and scheduling  
  • Perform housekeeping procedures including keeping work space clean and stocked
  • Maintain equipment with oversite of Clinical Coordinator
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors and uphold CHP Values
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Strongly Preferred


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Clearance with renewal
  • Act 33 Clearance with renewal
  • Act 34 Clearance with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
