Under the direction of the management team and senior staff, this intermediate level position requires a functional level of leadership of agile engineering teams. A ScrumMaster is has a working knowledge in agile practices, conflict resolution, communication, and building self-organizing teams. Typically, Scrum Masters can lead two to four product teams.

Responsibilities:
- Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating
- Collaboration and Communication, foster a transparent and communicative environment
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and management to help drive team success
- Engaging and Coaching product teams to help them recognize the effectiveness of self-organization and continuous improvement
- Build a safe and trusting environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged
- Actively work with the team to remove impediments, or finding the right people to remove them
- Periodically reports team metrics, successes, improvements, challenges, and opportunities to engineering leadership
- Embraces and practices continuous improvement
- Mentors, motivates, and inspires members of the product teams
- Process: Utilizes broad knowledge of agile frameworks (not just Scrum) to help transform the team into a high performing group
- Work closely with Product Owners to properly scope and plan current and future work
- The role of a ScrumMaster is one of team performance ownership. The success of a ScrumMaster is more tied to his/her ability to motivate and lead product teams to self-organization than by being an individual contributor. As such, a ScrumMaster is expected to direct a small number of cross-functional product teams to high performance.
- The responsibilities of a ScrumMaster include: Serving and Supporting the Product Owner and Engineering Team in their quest to deliver value on a consistent and predictable basis
- Coaches and obtains buy-in of the team on best practices for agile software development
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable field from an accredited university or equivalent experience is preferred.
- ScrumMaster Certification from a recognized organization such as ScumAlliance, Scrum.org, or ICAgile preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team through continuous improvement to a state of high performance.
- Typically at least one year as a ScrumMaster and 3+ years in the software development industry.
- Demonstrates a working understanding of the fundamental tools and concepts of agile processes (not just Scrum) and how to apply them to improve team performance.
- Ability to operate independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Software Development Project Delivery
- Experience with I.T. Process Improvement
- Experience working in Data Warehousing a plus
- Certified Scrum Master a plus
- Certified SAFe Agilist a plus
- Operating in a SAFe environment a plus
