UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. Project Analyst

Description

Purpose:
The Project Analyst is responsible for complex analysis of data and information sets for provider and company-wide initiatives. The Project Analyst is responsible for overseeing multiple projects at any given time. Must use knowledge and understanding of UPMC internal processes and information systems to recommend and implement the project plan. This position also is responsible for reporting results to Management as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Management in defining and documenting tasks and duties within the department.
  • Identifies trends and process improvement opportunities across departments within operations.
  • Process report requests as needed by Managers and Directors.
  • Monitors operating performance against regional and national benchmarks.
  • Perform complex project and data analysis as needed by Management.
  • Develops cross-functional, change management and implementation strategies, ensuring that all the participating parties have committed to effective implementation of the processes and procedures.
  • Assist with achieving Operations division strategic goals as well as organizational goals
  • Recommend and implement process improvement initiatives within the department as well as implement process improvement initiatives based on management decisions.
  • Provide concise and timely status reporting as required
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, this includes utilizing standard project documentation and methodology and project tracking and reporting procedures.
  • Works with other managers to achieve efficiencies across the integration of projects.
  • Assists team members in resolving project problems escalating issues when necessary, and facilities decision-making.
  • Develops and implements key metrics to measure and report on the progress of initiatives.
  • Performs cost/benefit analysis
  • Assures quality of information through business case and application-level testing; validates test results to initial business needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the Facilities Engineering and Maintenance Department Orientation Program.   Conduct all new hire orientation and six months follow-ups to ensure appropriate mentoring and employee retention.
  • Track all staff training and development updating employee records at a minimum annually (or at six months for new hires/promotions) to be submitted with employee’s performance evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and continually reassess the ongoing educational needs of the Facilities Engineering and Maintenance Department staff as well as apprentices and support personnel. Act as department liaison for the training of all union staff with the IUOE Local 95 programs as well as all City of Pittsburgh licensing and program accreditation.
  • Work with HR to ensure all department licensing is maintained/updated and submitted according to UPMC Policy.  Includes driver’s licenses, auto insurance, and all craft and City certifications/licensing.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track all medical testing compliance for department staff including flu immunizations, TB testing, Hepatitis B, ergonomic assessments, annual respirator fit testing, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a learning resource center to include printed materials, audio/visual software, and equipment. Provide and encourage training to continue personal and professional growth.
  • Organize and conduct twelve (12) monthly safety training seminars for Facilities Engineering and Maintenance staff. Periodically review management training and identify training resources and programs to address the existing needs of all individual Facilities Engineering and Maintenance Department personnel.
  • Coordinate and order employee uniforms. 
  • Act as liaison with the uniform company to address issues with delivery, sizing, employee concerns, etc.
  • Represent the Facilities Engineering and Maintenance Department, the UPMC Oakland Infection Control Department, and coordinate Environment of Care efforts to meet regulations and guidelines.
  • Serve as FEM Department liaison for ECRI Alerts Tracker System, Elevator Inspections (for deficiency reporting and resolution), and City of Pittsburgh Mayor’s Office and Department of Public Works (for Oakland campus infrastructure safety reporting such as street repair, crosswalk painting and sign repair).

Qualifications

  • Educational/Knowledge Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience or High School degree plus 5 years of experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.
  • Must be very organized and deadline conscious.
  • Project Management knowledge and ability to manage multiple, complex, large-scale projects.
  • Additional Qualities desired:
  • Minimum of four years of experience in operations.
  • Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent computer software packages.
  • Strong management, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
  • This position requires effective planning and organizational skills.
  • This person must have the ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to provide services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
