UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Integrated Data Analyst- Senior (REMOTE)

Description

UPMC Health Plan and WorkPartners is looking for an Integrated Data Analyst to produce in-depth reporting and analytics for employer group clients, internal business line leaders and executive management. The analyst will help identify and monitor health and absence risks in populations and evaluate the impact of implementing integrated health and productivity solutions. As a support for business line leaders, analyst will demonstrate the ability to deconstruct existing business processes and make specific recommendations for operational improvements. The position has potential for exceptional career growth opportunities.

Required: SQL experience, expert preferred.

Preferences: Power BI, ETL, types of database modeling, SSIS


Responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrate consistent application of strong problem-solving skills in the creation and interpretation of quantitative analyses, and to assist in development of analysis plans
  • Ability to re-engineer processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy.
  • Complete tasks on time with an emphasis on quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate leadership in development of analysis plans for complex projects to be carried out by themselves or other team members.
  • Create and maintain operational and customer-facing reports supporting UPMC Health Plan and WorkPartners products.
  • Compare performance against regional, national and international benchmarks.
  • Train new and existing staff on current and new products, processes and techniques.
  • Perform quality reviews of peers and junior level analysts.
  • Design, construct and summarize in-depth analyses.
  • Apply data-mining, statistical and advanced modeling techniques.
  • Ability to provide decision support for multiple product lines.
  • Explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including customers and senior management.
  • Prepare and distribute work assignments with an emphasis on determining and communicating realistic deliverable dates.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in analytics, economics, mathematics, computer science, statistics or a related field required. Equivalent work experience will be considered
    • Master's degree preferred.
  • Four (4) years of experience in data analytics required
  • Strong computer skills required, with knowledge in database-management systems such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server required.
  • Advanced SQL skills required.
  • Knowledge of analytical, statistical or machine learning software packages (such as SAS, SPSS, or R) required and/or familiarity with business intelligence software such as SSRS, Power BI or Tableau required.
