Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Hershey area, looking to advance your career? Are you looking for a Monday-Friday position? UPMC's Hershey Pediatrics is looking for a Lead LPN to join their busy and growing team. The Lead LPN would be the back office clinical leader on the team. The Lead LPN is responsible for providing professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Hours: Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri 8:30am-5:00pm. Wed 1:30pm-9:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Train and mentors all new LPNs and MAs.
- Coordinates work requirements
- Provides input to employment decisions i.e. Provide input for hiring decisions, LPN/MA performance review input, conducts reviews in conjunction with the clinical coordinator
- Order all clinical supplies.
- Assign physicians to exam rooms/pods on a daily basis.
- Assess patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed and prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Phlebotomy and endocrine testing as ordered.
- Maintain Strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM under the direction of an RN.
- Ensure proper staffing of the clinic at all times.
- Represent the concerns/issues of the clinic flow staff.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assign clinic staff to support the physicians and physician extenders on a daily basis.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Work with the clinical manager on resolution of clinic issues.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability.
- Must be able to perform all duties of a Licensed Practical Nurse in the office.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of department and system-wide policies and procedures in order to function as a resource to others.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
