Description

UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle is hiring a Supervisor to join our Mobile and Central Hiring team at Quantum I in Southside, PA!  In this role, the Supervisor will manage the coordination and supervision of the full time and casual Mobile Patient Access Team.

This individual ensures that all staff adhere to departmental and system wide attendance requirements, policies, performance reviews, and workflows are being completed accurately and on time. The supervisor plays a critical role during the onboarding of new staff and interacts with a variety of management levels throughout the Revenue Cycle and Health Services Division. The supervisor is responsible for conducting interviews and coordinates with Talent Acquisition to hire select Patient Access and Revenue Cycle staff throughout the enterprise.

This position will have work from home opportunities after training has been completed.  The Supervisor will work during the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and can also assist with other hours as needed for events such as career fairs.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with gaining appropriate access to networks, email, and database programs for all employees
  • Work with hiring managers from various locations, and offer candidates for their open positions in a timely fashionMaintain a strong relationship with Human Resources, and work collaboratively to resolve issuesAccurately report all metrics for central hiring functions
  • Perform daily job interviews for open positions, and hire/reject candidates based on their qualifications
  • Establish performance measurements and KPIs for all processes
  • Evaluate and disposition privacy alerts, and ensure appropriate medical access for all staff
  • Assist management in the development and guidance of staff in their daily activities.
  • Investigate and solve all issues presented by staff
  • Engage in open communication with Education and Training personnel regarding new hire systems training
  • Perform supervisory functions for staff amongst various facilities
  • Provide timely performance evaluations for staff
  • Maintain billing systems to ensure correct location access for all employees
  • Perform random audits of staff work to monitor performance and quality
  • Build/maintain relationship with Talent Acquisition, and assist in hiring for Revenue Cycle positions
  • Distribute notifications to hiring managers for all newly hired staff, and ensure an efficient on-boarding process
  • Interact with the management of various facilities regarding the performance of staff
  • Schedule and facilitate orientation courses for all Revenue Cycle float pool staff

 

Qualifications

  • BS in healthcare administration, finance, or related field and one year of healthcare billing, registration, or patient business services OR HS/Equivalent and three years of healthcare billing, registration, or patient business services, OR equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of medical terminology, third party payer billing requirements and reimbursement practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to effectively problem solve and make independent decisions
  • Prior working experience on personal computers and various office equipment
