COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

At UPMC, keeping our communities safe and healthy is our highest priority. Our Community Vaccinators are clinical professionals who aid in the safe and effective administration of the COVID-19 vaccine to our patients and community. These employees are apart of a team of diligent workers who administer COVID-19 vaccines to the communities we serve through clinics and vaccine distribution sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Inform and educate the recipient on vaccine information, expectations, and next steps
  • Administer COVID-19 vaccine safely and effectively
  • Complete vaccine recipient observation
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • This role requires an active Pennsylvania license (RN, MD / DO, Pharmacist, CRNA, CRNP, Physician Assistant, LPN, etc.)
  • Prior experience at UPMC in a vaccination role is preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • OR Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
  • OR Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • OR Pharmacist
  • OR Physician Assistant (PA)
  • OR Registered Nurse (RN)
