Description

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Project Manager (Heart and Vascular Institute) at Presby Executive Offices. This position will work daylight hours and is hybrid (option to work from home part-time)

This position will support projects related to UPMC Access Pillar. The candidate will work directly with the executive team developing/planning strategies around patient experience and access for UPMC. The candidate will work with teams across UPMC/Operational IT and call center teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute communication of complex information to team members and stakeholder groups.
  • Prioritize tasks based on relative importance and urgency and identify dependencies across projects. Recognize and act decisively in urgent matters; make tough decisions which may influence the direction of the project.
  • Anticipate key business and project issues, assess alternatives, and take appropriate measures to resolve in a professional, tactful manner, implementing comprehensive recommendations to achieve desired outcome. Assist team members in resolving project problems, escalates issues when necessary, and facilities decision-making.
  • Define alternative/compromise solutions that address others' fundamental concerns and impacts on long-term relationships. Systematically convey pros and cons of alternative solutions to complex, sophisticated, and sensitive issues and achieve consensus on direction/ approach.
  • Cooperate closely with business leaders and/or relevant experts in resolving issues. Identify and mitigate business risks associated with projects.
  • Demonstrate ability to prepare sensitive information and communicate it directly to senior management.
  • Generate new perspectives, frameworks or innovations that enable problem resolution. Generate innovative ideas which are strategically sound and challenge the status quo.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, this includes utilizing standard project documentation and methodology and project tracking and reporting procedures.
  • Plan, organize and control multiple responsibilities and solicit participation from cross-functional resources not under personal control and ensure that the most appropriate resources are assigned to specific project roles.
  • Draft faculty offer letters, employment exhibits, faculty incentive plans, professional services agreements and associated supporting documents as requested.
  • Recognize and anticipate scope issues and communicate to internal client and team changes to the work plan. Provide concise and timely status reporting as required.
  • Direct and execute creative analytic approaches/ create new or adapt existing analytical methods and tools to solve problems. Develop and implement key metrics to measure and report on progress of initiatives.
  • Build follow-up mechanism/maintenance plan into project deliverables to ensure that changes to be implemented will be sustainable. Ensure business value has been delivered.

 

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Business, Mathematics, statistics, Health Care, Management, or related field, or RN.
  • Master's degree preferred (extensive related experience will be considered).
  • Minimum of 4 years of project management or operations experience.
  • Experience in health care industry preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent computer software packages.
  • Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required.
  • Excellent Project Management skills along with effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to provide services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
