UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. To develop and coordinate didactic and clinical education components of the UPMC Hamot School of Anesthesia/Gannon University. The education coordinator manages overall function of the program across the comprehensive calendar of each academic year.


  • Coordinates all major program events such as annual graduation, sponsored educational events, luncheons, and periodic alumni conferences.
  • Identifies learning needs of faculty members and student registered nurse anesthetists utilizing current education methodology, and other formal/informal data. Organizes learning experiences and program curriculum with consideration for the specific needs of student registered nurse anesthetist.
  • Assures quality of clinical and non-clinical program activities; facilitates UPMC Hamot School of Anesthesia/Gannon University committees; networks with Gannon University, UPMC Hamot Department of Anesthesia, and other UPMC Hamot departments as needed to assure resource availability for effective program function.
  • Participates in recruitment and retention of student registered nurse anesthetists by coordinating such activities as admissions, new student orientation, clinical rotations, and daily clinical assignments.
  • Acts as a consultant to program faculty by providing expertise in program management, education/curriculum planning, and adult learning theory. Promotes excellent, graduate-level education of student registered nurse anesthetists.
  • Assists in management of program resources to facilitate achievement of UPMC Hamot School of Anesthesia/Gannon University program goals; and to assure cost effective utilization of resources.
  • Demonstrates UPMC Hamot's commitment to service excellence by understanding the needs of graduate students, physician and CRNA faculty, and co-workers and doing what is required the first time, every time by being responsible, sensitive, accurate, timely, coordinated and thorough
  • Acts as liaison between the program director, associate program director(s) student registered nurse anesthetists, Gannon University, contracted clinical affiliations, didactic/clinical faculty, and the community of interest.
  • Participates in periodic, required program review by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. Assists with preparation of mandatory documents and program facility for on-site review.
  • Promotes own personal and professional development to maintain or advance knowledge, skills, and attitudes applicable to graduate education.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates educational experiences for UPMC Hamot School of Anesthesia/Gannon University. Addresses identified needs of program faculty and student registered nurse anesthetists, assures compliance with the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA) Standards and Guidelines, and assists accomplishment of program goals and objectives.




  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Master's preferred Experience
  • One-year recent education experience with demonstrated teaching ability.


  • Must be able to develop and instruct programs for persons of diverse background, training, and expertise. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program development, classroom instruction, curriculum development and testing methods
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Professional to include: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interpret data and outcomes
  • Current communication technologies to include use of 'smart phone and texting
