Description:
Responsible for rendering professional advanced emergency care to ill and injured persons in accordance with N.Y.S., W.R.E.M.A.C., and WCA Services Medical Director. Will be able to function as the in-charge medic on an ALS vehicle. Is responsible for the safe operation of corporate vehicles. Is responsible for daily operation and activities of the MTS Division during his/her shift. Must also complete annual employee evaluations. In addition to the annual evaluation of the crew chief's assigned crew, he/she will also be required to provide accurate information that can be used in the evaluation of other crews.
Hours for this position will be a 4 day rotation from 8:00AM to 8:00PM with 4 days off.
Responsibilities:
- Work with MTS, ATS and Starflight managers in developing efficient communications.
- Foster and promote professionalism within MedCom.
- Develop and implement training programs and continuing education.
- Manages the human resources of the department.
- Liaison to a variety of Public Safety entities, hospitals, nursing homes and other customers as regards communications.
- Develop and recommend comprehensive communications policies and procedures to the EMS Resources Manager and Chief Flight Nurse.
- Works with the ATS Coordinator as regards ATS call scheduling.
- Works with management responsible for IS and infrastructure support.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must have a current New York State Department of Health EMT-P and/or AEMT-CC card, a current CPR card for professionals (AHA or ARC Professional), a current ICLS, BTLS or PHTLS and PALS.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a minimum of three years ALS field experience.
- All new hire AEMT-CC and EMT-P are required to show proof of completing within 6 months of the following:ICS-100ICS-200bNIMS-700Hazmat Awareness (post 9/11/2001)NYS Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training
- New hires during their first month of employment will be required to initiate Pennsylvania EMS certification within the first 30 days of hire. Employees will be required to acquire and maintain Pennsylvania EMS certification within six months of date of hire at the highest possible level of qualification available during the term of this contract.
- Ability to render professional basic emergency care in accordance with N.Y.S. Basic Protocol Standards and advanced emergency care in accordance with N.Y.S W.R.E.M.S. Protocol Standards.
- Must attend 25 hours of EMS related continued education per year.
- Must maintain credentials skills as outlined in the Standard Operating Guidelines.
- Must be an active preceptor. A
- ttendance at Field Supervisor meetings is mandatory.
- 16 hours of EVOCC drivers training upon hire.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR, NYS CFR, EMT requiredCAD preferred
