Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

  • Creates a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patient and their families as well as colleagues.
  • Develops and implements facility skin and wound care program to include resident care protocols, standards of care, competencies, policies and procedures, documentation tools, communication processes for changes in skin conditions.
  • In collaboration with facility clinical leadership, identifies the learning needs of nursing staff and provides training and support, for clinical staff to effectively assess wounds, recommend appropriate protocols, and advocate with physicians. 
  • Provide basic wound care training, orientation, and ongoing in services to all nursing staff.
  • Serves as a professional role model, clinical expert, and coordinator
  • Makes recommendations to physicians for changes in wound care in accordance with current evidence-based research and practices.
  • Monitors resident wounds for appropriate treatment and healing progression.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum of 2 years nursing experience

BSN Required

Wound Care experience preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Wound Care Certification preferred

CPR is required within 30 days of hire.

Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse license or eligible for State Board Licensure. 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
