If you have prior warehouse experience or are looking to start your career within our Supply Chain, this could be a perfect opportunity for you! As a full-time Warehouser, you'll support our Consolidated Service Center Warehouse in Warrendale, PA. This position includes 7 paid holidays throughout the year. We offer flexible shift start times and amount of shifts per week, typically 4 – 10 hour shifts per week or 5 – 8 hour shifts per week plus overtime, as needed, to support the daily operation. Parking is on-site and free. Evening/Overnight shifts are also available. There is a bi-weekly incentive program bonus available to team members who exceed current productivity metrics.
The Warehouser will begin his/her career on the warehouse floor directly picking and packing medical product orders using voice pick technology. The Warehouser will also be palletizing the medical product and staging the pallets for shipment across the distribution network using various battery-powered equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for meeting/exceeding the current productivity, quality, and safety metrics and contributes to achieving overall warehouse goals in Cost, Quality, and Productivity as set forth by current standards.
- Become proficient with the Voice Pick Technology to properly and efficiently pick/pack medical products to support requesting hospital facilities.
- This position provides a full 90-day new hire training program and does require the applicant to be on his/her feet for the majority of the assigned shift.
- Adherence to the current time/attendance guidelines is required to become a functioning member of the team
- Ensures proper technique is utilized in repackaging and/or staging of product for delivery to hospitals
Future Opportunities:
Once proficient with the tasks of the entry-level Warehouser responsibilities, there are many opportunities for additional learning and cross-training within the warehouse and across the UPMC network.
- Training to load/unload 53-foot trailers using forklifts and battery-powered pallet jacks
- Operate aerial equipment at heights up to 35 feet in order to process and move palletized medical products within the warehouse
- Drive 26-foot box trucks on scheduled routes to deliver the palletized products to requesting hospitals, senior living, and outpatient facilities across the network.
- Become a proficient user of Supply Chain Management procurement systems and internal Warehouse Management Systems.
- Process daily purchase order receipts through the inbound parcel and full truckload shipments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to handle heavy material using manual and mechanized material handling equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects along with no work limitations.
- Receiving and inventory experience preferred.
- Good communication skills are required.
