UPMC Williamsport is hiring a Full-Time Occupational Therapist, Brain Injury Program Coordinator. We will also consider an Occupational Therapist. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Additionally, the incumbent will work every fourth weekend and rotating holidays.

Occupational Therapist, Brain Injury Coordinator Salary Range: $36.56 - $53.00
Occupational Therapist: Salary Range: $35.32 - $53.00
Purpose:
Coordinates the comprehensive, evidence-based Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certified Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program. Coordinates the development of all aspects of the program including leading multidisciplinary teams, collaboration with the Rehabilitation Physicians, developing and implementing protocols, policies order sets, educational materials, and community outreach, coordinating quality outcomes tracking and reporting in accordance with Joint Commission standards, in addition to their clinical responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures.
- Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate patient care delivery system for brain injury patients within Susquehanna Health in conjunction with other brain injury program team members.
- Complete daily documentation of patient care and progress as required by SH, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies.
- Commit to high-quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors, or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involving patient safety. Understand that patient safety is everyone's responsibility. Assume responsibility for personal education and performance related to patient safety; report unsafe conditions or events immediately; speak up in a non-confrontational and educational manner when seeing a safety breech; develop or participate in a project or action plan to reduce risk or mitigate harm for patients, as appropriate.
- Perform concurrent review of patient care to ensure consistency with the program's clinical practice guidelines and plan of care.
- Facilitate staff education, in-services and journal review specific to brain injury rehabilitation.
- Assume responsibility for personal development and education.

- Treat and/or provide clinical care to patients according to respective practice act.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary huddles. Establish effective communication with physicians, therapists, nurses, and adjunct staff to facilitate high quality care for brain injury patients and their families.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and reference for the clinical team with regard to care of the patient with brain injury.
- Perform patient assessment based on physician's or practitioner's diagnosis and prescription and develop and implement a treatment program appropriate to the patient's age (pediatric, adolescent or geriatric).
- Collaborate with rehab liaisons with regard to the referral and admission of complex brain injury patients to ensure optimal preparation for the same.
- Assist with data collection and submission of required data to the Joint Commission.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy required. Three years of brain injury rehabilitation experience required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Occupational Therapist licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
