UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. MRI Technologist Advanced, UPMC Rooney Sports Complex

Are you looking for a meaningful career with endless opportunities? UPMC is hiring a full-time Advanced MRI Technologist to join the MRI Sports team! This role will be located at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex and will work varied 3 (13) hour shifts, including weekends and Holidays. The Advanced MRI Tech may be asked to cover at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital depending on department needs. 


Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Demonstrates complete operation of specialty equipment, analyzes data promptly, and completes quality control activities.
  • Assist with the training of staff and students.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of Level I MRI Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
  • Promptly responds to medical editing requests.
  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  • Practices and maintains MR safety in the department.
  • Performs weekly ACR Phantom testing

 

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT.
  • 2 years MRI experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ARRT MR Certified.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
