Description

University of Pittsburgh Physicians are hiring a full-time Psychologist to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA! In this position, you will primarily work Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm, occasional evening hours are also necessary to accommodate school/family schedules. 

The Psychologist hired for this role will conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments, and evidence-based treatment (individual, family and group therapy) for children, adolescents and young adults with mood and comorbid conditions and their families. Additionally, this person will provide training and clinical supervision for master’s level therapists conducting assessments and treatment in the clinic, lead psychosocial program development and implementation to meet patients’ and families’ needs, as guided by scientific evidence and oversee clinical administration for the clinic, including ensuring compliance with all regulations.

This is a great opportunity to join a unique multidisciplinary team that specializes in the assessment and treatment of youth with bipolar spectrum disorders, as well as youth who are at-risk for bipolar disorder, and those with complex, treatment resistant, mood-related difficulties.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides crisis sessions to support and assist patients experiencing acute distress and/or symptoms, as needed.
  • Provides behavioral health services, using empirically validated treatments and interventions.
  • Participates in regular supervisory meetings with direct supervisor to review adherence to program standards.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain accurate and complete records and data collection, performed in a timely fashion.
  • Demonstrates highly developed knowledge and skill in the area of differential diagnosis of psychiatric disorders.
  • Consults and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams regarding patient care and treatment planning.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant literature and empirically validated treatments.
  • Performs psychological assessment with accurate diagnostic impressions.
  • Provides behavioral health services using an acute and maintenance model.
  • Schedules sufficient volume of patients so that direct service productivity standards are maintained within the department.
  • Maintains knowledge of the literature relevant to the assigned patient population.
  • Works collaboratively with other service lines at UPMC and outside agencies assuring continuity of care with referral sources and other providers.

 

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an accredited institution.
  • 1 years of experience in Psychology or related field preferred.
  • Excellent clinical interviewing and assessment/therapy skills to work with patients and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Active PA Psychology License
