We're hiring a Senior Human Resources Consultant for our UPMC Corporate Human Resources team. This is a regular, full-time position that primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday. A perk of this position includes flexible work arrangements!
In this role, the Senior HR Consultant independently provides strategic human resources consulting to UPMC leaders regarding the implementation of human resource policies and employee relations strategies. Additional job responsibilities may include completing employee investigations, initiating performance management conversations, leading HR projects and initiatives, and much more!

Responsibilities:
- Lead business objectives with employees and management, serving as a sr. business partner to management on HR-related issues and acts as a change agent. Accountable for managing and delivering HR programs and services within the organization
- Partner with leaders to provide and implement HR initiatives that support management and employees across the organization.
- Collaborate with HR team to design and plan interventions that facilitate organizational changes.
- Provides leadership and mentorship within the HR department and oversee HR staff as needed.
- Drive change management practices to enable organizational effectiveness and foster a diversity & inclusion strategy that will maximize our competitive advantage and skills of the workforce.
- Effectively communicate expectations with business, operational, and HR partners while promoting a 'One Team' collaborative atmosphere in which all functions of HR work together as one team.
- Participate on local and/or organization wide committees that focus on projects that move the organization forward and towards meeting its strategic goals.
- Collaborate with HR business and operational leaders to identify education gaps and development opportunities for management and employees.
- Partners with management to provide consultation on coaching and mentorship for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field and at least three years of employee relations experience required.
- OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of employee relations experience required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- PHR, SPHR certification, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification or UPMC HCI Strategic HR Business Partner Certification required within the first year of hire for external candidates.
- Internal applicants within UPMC HR are required to have the certification requirements in place to be considered for promotional opportunities.
