UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Mental Health Worker Associate (Matilda Thiess-Wilkins)

Description

The Mental Health Worker Associate will help in supporting the Matilda Theiss CSBBH Cool Zone Program. This program has 5 different school teams who support up to 40 grade school-aged children. Services are provided at school, homes, and community settings and include both individual and family therapy based upon service coordination and referrals. 

The dress code is business casual and the schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, mostly daylight, with some flexibility to accommodate evening hours as needed. The ideal hire for this position should have an interest in working with child populations and should have reliable transportation. Must be willing to be part of an on-call rotation for crisis support. 


Responsibilities:

 

  • In cooperation with the team, develop, assess, facilitate and monitor group activities for the patients.
  • Monitor daily progress notes, data collection, summarization, and graphing for assigned patients. This includes but is not limited to educational, behavioral and skills development programs as well as research protocols.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively in a trans-disciplinary environment, served by the supervision of several senior staff.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of behavioral and functional assessments of the patients.
  • Promote professional rapport with co-workers, patients, and visitors to the Institute.
  • Coordinate the data management involved in program evaluation and report these findings to other clinical community members.
  • Assess and monitor skills development programming (cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, expressive, social skills, process) for the patients.
  • Assist in monitoring patient satisfaction (teachers, parents, child, outside agency)

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, counseling and education or related field.
  • Minimum of One year of experience in mental health or related field.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
