Casual Registered Nurse – Stem Cell Transplant (UPMC Shadyside 6 West)

UPMC Shadyside, a three-time Magnet-designated hospital, is currently hiring a casual Registered Nurse to support the Stem Cell Transplant unit, 6 West. 

About the Position & Unit:

6 West is an oncology unit that specializes in stem cell transplants, car-t cell infusions, and cutting-edge research.  It is a fast-paced unit that is moving cancer care forward. 

Patient diagnoses include a robust oncology population specializing in hematological cancers. Nurses will attend training to administer chemotherapy as well as Stem Cell Transplant classes. There are plenty of opportunities for growth and development through continued education opportunities and certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN).

Our Registered Nurses work rotating shifts including weekends/holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. Title and salary will be determined based on education and nursing experience.

Responsibilities:

Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers. Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and health system’s goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction. Creates a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
