Administrator of TCU (Northwest and Seneca)

Purpose:
The incumbent serves as the conduit between staff, residents, physicians, referral sources, Senior Management, and governmental agencies.

This position will be responsible for Northwest and Seneca.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular meetings with management and direct care staff. Promotes and encourages professional growth and development of facility employees through attendance at appropriate workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.
• Implement approved policies and procedures.
• Oversee Admission and Discharge Committees.
• Coordinate and manage all other responsibilities assigned.
• Implement approved goals and objectives.
• Keep current on changes within the regulations and communicate them in a timely manner.
• Promote and maintain positive relationships within the facility, with physicians, residents, families, other hospitals, long term care facilities, and other healthcare agencies.
• Communicate and interpret these to staff.
• Prepare annual operating budget, subject to approval. Implements and monitors approved budget.
• Develop goals and objectives for the facility consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital in collaboration with Senior Management.
• Identify and report negative trends regarding all aspects of care.
• Manage employee relations in accordance with Human Resource Policies and participate in new employee selection and orientation.
• Develop process changes to ensure compliance with any changes.
• Provide and maintain adequate and timely communications within the facility.
• Investigate irregularities, policy violations, resident complaints, and incident reports promptly.
• Coordinate hospital resources to provide needed services in the department.
• Review and approve departmental operating budget expenses.
• Establish policies and procedures consistent with the facility’s philosophy, subject to approval by Senior Management.
• Communicate and interpret these to the staff.
• Participate in hospital wide initiatives, as requested.
• Plan, organize, and direct patient census to ensure maximum reimbursement via effective management of patient length of stay.
• Evaluate departmental operations and make recommendations.
• Ensure the facility meets all applicable LTC DOH federal and state regulations, JCAHO standards and standards of nursing and patient care practice.
• Implement and communicate appropriate corrective action(s).
• Plan, organize, and direct overall facility operations to ensure safe, quality resident care.
• Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to Department Directors after ascertaining competence.
• Chair the departmental QA Committee.
