Pharmacy at UPMC
At UPMC, our team of Pharmacy experts enhance patient care with their skilled usage and administration of drugs and medicine, making them trusted and valuable members of the clinical team. From pharmacy students wanting to gain experience, to new graduates of Pharm.D. programs looking to get a great start in their career, to experienced employees transitioning from a role in retail pharmacy, members of the Pharmacy team join UPMC with different skill sets and receive tailored training to meet individual needs.
Pharmacist
As a leader in pharmaceutical care, pharmacists put their education and knowledge to work in preparing, dispensing, and managing appropriate medications for our patients. Their work can take place in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient care centers.
Pharmacy Student
Pharmacy students work alongside pharmacists and other members of the clinical team, gaining foundational experience as they continue their educational journeys while supporting and assisting accredited professionals along the way.
Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy techs are trained professionals who support all aspects of the pharmaceutical care experience, while working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
