  Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse – Vascular Access Unit

  UPMC Hamot, a Magnet-certified hospital, is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse to join our Vascular Access department. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated nurses who are eager to make a meaningful impact on patient care in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

  This position offers a rotating day/evening schedule with shifts available seven days a week, and the flexibility to choose between 8- or 12-hour shifts.

  Position Overview:

  As a Professional Staff Nurse in the Vascular Access unit, you will play a key role in providing high-quality nursing care. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively, managing and delivering care to a group of patients, using sound judgment and clear communication to achieve the best possible outcomes.

  This role involves leadership, collaboration, and supervision. You will work closely with physicians, healthcare professionals, patients, and families to ensure the highest standard of care and patient safety.

The final job title and rate of pay will be based on your qualifications and preferences. Any required certifications will be provided with a timeframe to obtain.   The minimum rate of pay for a non-BSN Professional Staff Nurse is $33.75.

  • Utilize critical thinking to address clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team to promote patient safety and high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation to enhance communication among caregivers.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to create a compassionate, healing environment.
  • Demonstrate accountability for personal and professional development, including participating in shared governance and improving care practices.
  • Provide education to patients and families to guide them through their care journey and transition to other levels of care.
  • Mentor and support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues.
